Childhood trauma can cast long shadows over our lives, influencing everything from our relationships to our professional achievements. Some choose to “bury” their feelings to avoid facing the “monsters” hidden in their closets but eventually, those monsters unlock those doors and bring chaos into your life. On the other hand, a lot of people are not aware of their traumas, they don't realize that their behaviors, their lack of self-love, and confidence stem from traumatic incidents that happened early in their lives. What I am trying to say here, is that you are not alone in your struggles. A significant percentage of adults report experiencing at least one form of childhood trauma. Trauma knows no boundaries of race, gender, or socioeconomic status.

Identifying the signs of unresolved trauma is the first step toward healing. This chapter provides tools and exercises to help you uncover the traumas that reside in your unconscious mind.

Give it a try. Give yourself a week or two to gather your thoughts on paper. Write down your anger, your discontent, your most unpleasant memories. Be honest and raw. Speak to your Self. It will be messy but so worthy.
